40th anniversary of Olof Palme's death

On February 13 at 9 a.m., the virtual seminar "Olof Palme and the world 40 years later. On the anniversary of his death." This seminar aims to analyze the Swedish politician's legacy and his contribution to international conflict management, gender equality, international solidarity with migrants and prisoners of conscience, the environmental agenda, and the rejection of the arms race, among other key issues on the international agenda.

The first session, entitled “Olof Palme and international conflicts,” will feature Martha Bárcena Coqui, Federico Cuello Camilo, and Lorenzo Lazo Margain, moderated by María Cristina Rosas.

The event offers the option of receiving a certificate of completion for each session or for the entire seminar.

40th anniversary of Olof Palme's death

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Olof Palme's death, you are cordially invited to the virtual seminar “Olof Palme and the world 40 years later,” which will take place every Friday from February 13 to March 13, from 9 to 11 a.m.


The seminar will analyze Olof Palme's contribution to international conflict management, his support for refugees and asylum seekers, the environmental agenda (Stockholm 1972), disarmament, and the role of middle powers.


Renowned academic and diplomatic experts will participate.

The presentation will take place as part of the 47th International Book Fair at the Palacio de Minería on Monday, February 23, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sotero Prieto Room. Ifigenia Argueta, Alejandro Martínez Serrano, and María Crostina Rosas will participate, and Alicia Girón will moderate the session. Copies will be available during the presentation.
