Public diplomacy is a practice that has undergone profound transformations over time. For example, in the 1960s, in the context of the Cold War, much public diplomacy consisted of disseminating information or propaganda, often through information operations. 

 Studies on intelligence in our country are scarce, despite the importance they have for decision-making. In this book, Guillermo Mendoza and María Cristina Rosas take on the task of bringing together some of the most authoritative voices to analyze this issue.

Both the enormous and growing complexity of global problems, as well as the impressive speed with which these evolve and affect our daily lives, makes it essential that we all have a better understanding on how complicated international interactions on the 21st century are, as well as to know about the channels, mechanisms and means that exist, and specially about the serious threats that civilization is facing in our very troubled new century.

 The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) entered into force on January 1, 1994. Agreed to 15 years to liberalize trade and promote investment between Mexico, the United States and Canada, it has been an instrument that fostered interdependence between the three countries in different extents and levels.

 Human Security and Multidimensional Security are probably the two most important concepts coined after the end of the Cold War, in the spirit of reconfiguring ‘security’ by dissipating the dust that raised the collapse of the Soviet Union and, with it, the disappearance of the East-West confrontation. 

 The study of the polar regions in International Relations has been badly punished. It is often lost sight of the fact that Antarctica is the sixth continent located at the South Pole, while the Arctic is a frigid ocean located at the North Pole; both constitute strategic spaces, and the most concrete actions for their domination, appropriation and exploitation have been developed especially in the 20th century, and with this the interest in analyzing the problems they involve has increased at the present time.
