The board of directors is conformed by the presidency, the general secretariat and three administrative departments: finance, diffusion and institutional linkage and promotion. Associate members include researchers, teachers, public officials and students, especially from the areas of political and social sciences
Contribute to the analysis and research of national and international events in the field of peace, security and development from a broad conception and disseminate the knowledge of social scientists, officials, intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations and businesspeople through spaces for dialogue and free exchange of ideas.
We are committed to being a center of strategic thinking that contributes to the prosperity of Mexico and the world, through the promotion of the best practices of peace, security and development. In addition, we want to contribute to the training of human resources with high levels of professionalism and quality in the three spheres that guide the work of the Center.
On the right side, the figure of Olof Palme is identified, who was Prime Minister of Sweden, whose work in favor of international peace and justice inspires the work of the Center.
On the far left you can see the figure of a
hummingbird, which is a tiny bird, endemic to the American continent. The ancient Aztecs worshiped Huitzilopochtli (whose name can be translated as "southern hummingbird") as God of the sun, fire and war.
Huitzilopochtli, who was sometimes represented with the figure of a hummingbird in flight, was a guide, protector and patron of the Aztecs, as well as being the supreme God of Tenochtitlan.
The relationship between this God and the hummingbird was due to the great aggressiveness that the little bird shows when defending its female from another stalking male. Due to the bravery of this small bird, the Aztec warriors believed that if they died in combat, their souls would reincarnate in the form of a hummingbird.
